Hula Dance

Hula Dancer

Every Tuesday is my Hula lesson day.
I was late for the class since I could not finish working on time today.
My hula lesson is getting harder and harder, but I finally made up my mind to go up to the next level.
It will be three-hour-long class, but I will try.
My dream is to be a hula dance teacher when I turn to 70 years old, so I should learn Hula more now.

Today was a busy day as usual.
I went to work earlier this morning and tried to finish my work on time, but couldn't.
I am in the middle of our production team and our sales team right now.
To make pancakes become big in Japan, I am doing R&D, Production, and Sales now for a certain item.
Now I understand the reason each department cannot get along at our company.
Each department is pretty selfish and they try to make other departmet is guilty when they make a mistake.
Today I got a call from the boss at Sales department, and I was scold about production team.
After I was scold by him, I called a boss of Production team, and I was scold again about Sales department.
I understand both of them, but I also think both were wrong.
Being in the middle is always difficult in any situation.

Gotta go on a business trip to Tokyo for three days from tomorrow.
Gotta catch an early flight, so gotta go to bed now.

Nintendo Wii

Wii

I got Nintendo Wii at home!
There are so many kinds of games in Japan now.
This is sort of crazy that so many people try to get them.
I am not a big fan of computer games, but I have played Family Computer (I am not sure if you had in the US), Super Family Computer, and a normal Gameboy.
When we got Play station at home, I had no idea how to play, so did not play at all.
I always wonder why little kids can figure out how to play those.
When I worked at Hyatt in Denver, there was a gamers’ convention.
So many gamers come to stay at the hotel, talked about games, and played games.
It was such an interesting atmosphere.

I did not like when my boyfriends are crazy playing computer games.
Why? Cuz it is no fun for me since I had no idea how it worked.
I am interested in learning how to play those, but at the same time, I am afraid to be into games.
If I got crazy about games, I would play it 24/7, I am that kind of person…

Anyway, this Nitendo Wii is a gift for somebody, not for myself.
Now I am thinking to buy DS for my long business trip in next month.
I don’t know if I should, though…

Hula Dance Night

I Love Hula Dance!!

We had Hula concert last Sunday at Ritz Carlton Hotel.

It was an event for frequent customers of some kind of Jewelry Company.

The Jewelry Company held this party whose theme was “a world cruise”.

They set all the tables up like a luxury boat.

They pretended like they took all the guests to a world cruise.

So when the guests drink French wine, they pretended like they landed France, and French musician show their performance in front of them.

Those guests eat food from all over the world each time.
I thought it was such a neat concept.
As you can see, we did our performance when they landed Hawaii.

Hawaii was their final destination.
They got off from the boat, and went to desert room.

We welcomed them by saying, “Aloha~~”, although all of us are Japanese!

It was fun, though.

There are bunch of coconut trees in the room, and so many kinds of sweets.

It was a desert buffet.

We danced in front of them for thirty minutes or so on a big stage.

At the end, my Hula Dance teacher gave the guests a lecture, and we all danced together.
Young and old, men and women enjoyed dancing Hula for the first time.

After this stage, we got to eat their leftover sweets.

They left a lot, and we shared everything!

Yummy….

Hula is one of my hobbies, which I have learned for one year.
Very good excersice, and very good way to relax.

Moreover, it is so much fun to get to know many people through Hula Dance.

Sing A Song

My Singing Lesson Room

This is the place where I take a singing lesson after work.
There are two keyboards in this room, and my teacher, who used to be a professional pianist, plays any music for practice.
First, I took Gospel Lesson in a group at this school.
Since everybody in the group only speak Japanese, but not English, they sing all Gospel song without know what they are saying.
I felt sometime wired about it, so I decided to take private voice training, instead.
I mainly sing R&B.
I never listened much English music before, so I didn’t know many singers in the US.
So it was hard for me to turn in songs for practice to my teacher, which we have to do pretty often.
But now I downloaded so many English songs to my ipod, and have many songs I wanna try singing!
The song I am practicing right now is “Tell Him” by Lauryn Hill.
“Let me be patient, let me be kind, make me unselfish, without being blind….”
This is a song, which my friend liked, so he suggested me to practice this song, so I did.
Good song!

Her song is really difficult, but very fun to try.

This is how I learn singing at this school.
My teacher has made money by playing the piano since he was 14 years old.
He has worked with an American voice trainer for Britney Spears.
He is so talented, but really strict.
There are many students who want to be a professional singer.
I am not one of them.
I started taking this class, because I always like to sing a song.
I used to be a pretty good singer, when I was a vocalist in a band when I was 17.
However, I realized my singing skill is getting worse and worse by getting old.
So I started to go to this school after work to keep up my English pronunciation and singing skill.
It is good way to get rid of my stress from work!
